Collaborating with regulators, industry leaders, and startups, I've managed everything from large departments to small teams, and I've launched new products, businesses, and even sectors. My international experience has enriched my understanding of different cultures and operational practices.

At the core of my journey is a passion for change, innovation, and continuous improvement aimed at enhancing profitability. Each new situation provides fresh insights and broadens my perspective, and there is no substitute for the lessons learned from making tough decisions on the front lines. These insights can't be found in textbooks; they come from real-world experience.

In an ever-evolving marketplace filled with new platforms and media, my experience serves as a crucial foundation. My unique advantage lies in my dual role as both a marketing and operations manager. This perspective is vital, as many marketing initiatives falter when the promised strategies aren't fully operationalized. With a significant 30+ years of expertise in the full spectrum of business operations—from inception to marketing and management—Ron has consistently been the go-to strategist for enterprises aiming to refine their business models and marketing strategies across various industries, such as gaming and entertainment, telecommunications, and sports equipment.

TIMELINE

2016 – 
As the Principal of TAG Gaming Inc., Ron works with global gaming and lottery organizations helping them navigate the tricky waters of the industry. During this time Ron was cofounder and has served as the Willowdale Group’s Chief Commercial Officer for its online gaming operations. Ron has helped many online gaming companies establish themselves in Canada, as well as some to stand-up their business overall. Ron continues to consult global organizations in revising their mission & vision, reconstituting their boards, developing new lines of businesses, and organization change.

2010-2012
As a subject area expert on the Canadian Marketing Association’s Education Committee, Ron developed educational strategies and designed courses aimed at helping marketers learn the intricacies of the gaming business.

1996-1998
As the Personal Segment Manager at Bell Mobility Ron was responsible for the development of mobile solutions and marketing strategies targeting the consumer segment (B2C).

1998-2015
As Director of Gaming Operations for Ontario Lottery and Gaming, Ron led the revitalization and design of a new industry model in collaboration with charities, non-profit organizations, private sector operators and municipal governments, and regulators that disbursed hundreds of millions of dollars to local Ontario community charities and non-profits. Ron led OLG through significant transformation to its strategic direction, operations, organizational structure, and the development of skills and culture, in addition to the introduction of new technology systems and relationships.

Ron helped OLG achieve a number of firsts in Charitable Gaming, including:

  • First to implement outsourced-privatization model

  • First to implement unique charitable bingo gaming model and back-end system/platform

  • First to sign an international licensing and royalty deal for bingo gaming back-end system/platform

  • First to implement downloadable electronic games into retail locations

  • Strategic marketing shift from products only to entertainment experience

  • Revised portfolio of products by introducing new lines electronic gaming into bingo centres

  • First to develop and deliver comprehensive branding & marketing education programs to retail operators
